“Coronel Suárez”
High in the dawn rises the severe face of metal and melancholy. A dog glides down the sidewalk. It is no longer night and it is not even daytime. Suarez looks at his town and the subsequent plain, the ranches, the paddocks, the paths that fatigue the reseros, the patient planet that endures. Behind the simulacrum I can tell you, oh young captain, that you were the Master of that battle that twisted the destiny: Junín, resplendent like a dream. In the confines of the vast South persists that high thing, vaguely sad.Jorge Luis Borges

The germans of the Volga arrived to Argentina by a decree of President Nicolás Avellaneda. They stablished at Buenos Aires on year 1878. Later they will expand to other provinces, founding dozens of villages like Colonel Suárez.
There are three colonies on this city that keep a great social and historical patrimony. You can find more than 2.500.000 descendents from germans of the Volga in Argentina, but nowhere else kept their traditions like Colonel Suárez.
